Capability Development

The TPAE Fellowship — An Emerging Capability Initiative.

An informal, exploratory capability-development initiative designed to support practical exposure to thermal performance assurance concepts, applied engineering thinking, and digital-estate innovation.

Initiative active — early engagement welcome
Not a formal qualification or certification
Evolving collaboratively over time

What Is It

An Informal, Exploratory Capability Initiative.

The TPAE Fellowship is an emerging, informal capability-development initiative — not a formal qualification programme, accreditation framework, or prescribed curriculum. It is designed to support practical exposure to the emerging field of thermal performance assurance engineering through real-world engagement, applied exploration, and collaborative learning.

Early Fellowship activities have ranged from pitch and demonstrator support to innovation ecosystem engagement and applied research exploration. As the initiative develops, Fellowship activity is expected to deepen and diversify — shaped by the interests, institutions, and practitioners who engage with it.

The Fellowship is intentionally open and exploratory. It does not impose a fixed structure on participants — instead, it provides a collaborative framework within which applied capability can develop organically alongside real-world initiative activity.

Fellowship Philosophy
"The Fellowship is expected to evolve collaboratively over time alongside institutional and ecosystem engagement — building shared understanding and practical capability through real-world exposure rather than prescribed curriculum."

Early Activities

What Fellowship Engagement Has Included.

🎤
Pitch & Demonstrator Support
Supporting the development and communication of thermal performance assurance concepts to institutional, innovation, and investment audiences.
🔬
Applied Research Exploration
Investigating thermal performance assurance methodologies, edge computing applications, and evidence framework development in built environment contexts.
🌐
Innovation Ecosystem Engagement
Active participation in Scotland's Net Zero, built-environment, and climate innovation ecosystem — connecting TPAE with emerging funding, collaboration, and partnership opportunities.
🏛️
Climate & Energy Conference Participation
Engagement with sector conferences, events, and forums — building the TPAE network and contributing to emerging conversations around operational Net Zero evidence and thermal performance.
🏗️
Thermal Performance Infrastructure Investigation
Hands-on investigation of thermal sensing systems, edge-autonomous infrastructure, and evidence output frameworks in real and prototype building environments.
How the Fellowship Evolves
"The Fellowship is not a fixed programme — it is a collaborative space that grows and adapts alongside the initiative and the people who engage with it."
